Special Education Para Professional in Oak Forest, IL

This contract position offers the opportunity to be an integral part of a caring educational community, providing direct, 1:1 assistance to a student with social and emotional needs from kindergarten through transition ages (k–18). With consistent Monday through Friday hours and school-day scheduling, you’ll be part of the student’s daily success story from ASAP until the end of the school year.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional or familiarity with school-based support roles
• Understanding of social/emotional behavioral support strategies
• Comfort with, or willingness to learn, toileting and diapering support as needed
• Ability to establish positive, respectful rapport with students and staff
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Adaptability and readiness to respond to students’ unique needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized, direct support to a student (grades K-18; specific age to be determined)
• Assist with social/emotional development, implementing strategies designed by educational teams
• Support any toileting and personal care needs as required, ensuring dignity and privacy
• Facilitate a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Document daily notes and progress as directed by the educational team
• Maintain proactive communication with teachers and specialists
