Classroom Aide | Oakland, California

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students for the 26/27 school year! This position, located near vibrant Oakland, CA, offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a Special Day class environment. Beginning August 10, 2026 and running through May 28, 2027, you’ll be working 32.5 hours per week, providing essential 1:1 assistance for a student with behavioral needs.

If you are an experienced paraeducator who understands the unique requirements of a Special Day class, your background and dedication are exactly what we’re seeking. The ideal candidate possesses a supportive approach, the ability to communicate effectively, and is preferably bilingual in Spanish to better connect with students and families.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraeducator or paraprofessional, preferably in a Special Day class setting
• Demonstrated understanding of behavioral management strategies
• Strong commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized, 1:1 support to a student with behavioral needs
• Assist classroom teacher in implementing instructional and behavioral strategies
• Encourage student participation and engagement in classroom activities
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to meet student goals
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and procedures
