- Associates degree or higher, OR 48 college units and a high school diploma, OR high school diploma with passing CBEST or instructional aide/para exam
- Willingness to complete or provide proof of required certifications: CPR/First Aid (district funded), anti-seizure med training, or specialized health care procedure modules as needed
- For specialized roles: experience with students with significant social-emotional or behavioral needs, fluent sign language, Braille/vision support, or California LVN license with necessary certifications
- Minimum of six months recent paraprofessional experience in a school setting preferred
- Strong teamwork skills and adaptability; willingness to fulfill all duties requested on site
Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct instructional and personal care support for students per campus need, including toileting/diapering and feeding
- Bus aide assignments require escorting students to and from school/home
- Supporting classroom and community-based activities, maintaining student safety
- Communicating effectively with school teams and following outlined protocols
- Engaging in annual or biannual trainings as required
Hourly schedules vary by grade level and position, ranging from part-time school hours to full-time bus aide assignments.
