Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a school setting as a paraprofessional is highly preferred
- Ability to provide instructional, behavioral, and/or physical support to students of varying abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, students, and staff
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability in working with children and adolescents
- Ability to follow lesson plans and instructions from certified teachers
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or completion of a paraprofessional certification program is a plus
- Understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries in an educational setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Support classroom instruction by reinforcing lessons and assisting individual students or small groups
- Assist with implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) under teacher direction
- Help manage classroom behavior and provide positive encouragement
- Prepare instructional materials and support teachers with daily classroom activities
- Supervise students during classroom, lunch, recess, or field trips as needed
- Support students with personal care tasks if required
- Participate in meetings, training, and professional development relevant to the position
