Your expertise will be matched with an appropriate caseload, ensuring your skills and interests align with classroom needs. Candidates will participate in interviews beginning on 7/27 to discuss their experiences supporting special education (SPED) and to share their classroom preferences. Following interviews, recommendations and offers will be extended to qualified applicants.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Paraprofessional in schools (elementary, middle, or high school levels) preferred.
- Understanding of or direct experience with special education, including life skills, autism, or behavior support classrooms.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a collaborative team.
- Flexibility and commitment to supporting a variety of student needs.
- Relevant credentials or certifications as required by Kansas regulations for Paraprofessionals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teachers with academic, social, and behavioral support for students.
- Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioral strategies.
- Provide one-on-one or small group assistance in various classroom settings.
- Support students’ engagement and participation, fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with special education staff and contribute to team meetings.
