You’ll work across various sites, collaborating closely with educators and staff to ensure every student receives the assistance they need to thrive academically and socially.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
- Prior experience working as a paraprofessional or in a school environment preferred
- EIPA certification not required
- Ability to build rapport with students and adapt to their unique learning styles
- Organized, reliable, and capable of working independently across different locations
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students using ASL during after-school program activities and academic support
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to facilitate clear communication and successful learning experiences
- Support classroom management and help implement educational plans as directed by lead teachers
- Foster an inclusive environment that promotes interaction, participation, and confidence in students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and participation
This role offers you the chance to make a meaningful difference each afternoon, working 2:30–6:00 PM daily, for approximately 20–24 hours per week.
