Key Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a related support role in schools
- Ability to work effectively alongside teachers, therapists, and other team members
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both students and adults
- Compassion, patience, and adaptability when working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in education is a plus
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding school policies
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support classroom instruction and assist lead teachers in implementing lessons and activities
- Provide individualized or small group assistance to students as directed
- Assist with behavior management, helping students stay engaged and focused
- Prepare and organize materials for classroom use
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Supervise students in classroom, hallways, and during transitional periods
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate observations to teaching staff
