Key qualifications and experience:
- Associate's degree (AA) or higher required.
- At least two years of paraprofessional experience preferred.
- Active paraprofessional credentials (must be current and valid).
- Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), especially with elopement and individualized instruction, is highly desirable.
- Ability to provide gentle prompting for toileting needs and ensure a safe, structured environment.
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to maintain patience and composure throughout the school day.
- Ready to start as soon as possible and commit to the full assignment, with potential for summer extension.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting a 4th grade student in an ASD-focused classroom on a 1:1 basis.
- Implementing individualized strategies for safety and engagement, including vigilant supervision to prevent elopement and deliver tailored instruction.
- Encouraging independence while ensuring the student’s needs are met in alignment with teacher and support staff guidance.
- Prompting for toileting as needed; assisting in transitions and daily routines within a single school building.
Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule of 30 hours per week, working six-hour days from 9:15am – 3:45pm. This role begins as soon as possible and continues through June 2026, with robust potential for summer session extension based on performance.
