What You’ll Bring:
- Highly qualified status, demonstrated by either:
- Passing the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (Para Educator Exam)
- At least 60 college credits (transcript required)
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional, particularly in special education settings, preferred
- Comfort and ability to assist with toileting and personal care as needed
- Flexible mindset and willingness to work with students ranging from elementary to high school (please note age preference, if any)
- Strong communication, patience, and resilience working with students who present behavioral and emotional challenges
- Ability to follow established plans and collaborate closely with teachers and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional and behavioral support to students in a Setting 4 program
- Support students with academic tasks and social-emotional development throughout the school day
- Assist with personal hygiene, toileting, and other daily living needs as required
- Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful learning environment for all students
- Work as a key member of the educational team, following the guidance of lead teachers and specialists
- Accurately document student progress and incidents, supporting compliance with educational plans
