Step into a dynamic contract role supporting students across multiple sites as a floating substitute paraprofessional. This is a unique opportunity to work within crews assigned to different portions of a large, well-established district, providing vital support where it’s needed most. You’ll assist in Special Education classrooms, helping students with behavioral needs and BIPs, and may provide 1:1 or classroom aide support. Be part of a flexible crew covering callouts at several locations—guaranteed 30 hours each week school is in session.
What we’re looking for:
- Highly qualified paraprofessional status achieved by passing the MN Para Educator Exam or by completing at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required)
- Previous experience working in schools, with a strong background in supporting students exhibiting challenging behaviors
- Ability to provide support in toileting and daily living tasks as needed
- Reliable transportation to travel between schools within the assigned crew’s region
- Strong flexibility and responsiveness to adjust to frequent, varied assignments
- A current, detailed resume along with required documentation (exam results or transcripts)
Your role and responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to assigned callouts, supporting students in a variety of classrooms on a substitute basis
- Collaborate with crew supervisors via direct, immediate contact
- Foster positive, productive learning environments by working closely with teachers and students
- Manage challenging behaviors by implementing de-escalation strategies and BIPs
- Adapt quickly to new settings and work with a wide range of educators and students
