Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Valid Illinois paraprofessional (para) certificate required
• Previous experience working as a paraprofessional in an educational setting strongly preferred
• Candidates with a background in behavioral support will be given priority
• Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) is highly valued
• Strong communication, patience, and adaptability are essential
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and students

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group support to students with diverse learning or behavioral needs
• Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and classroom management
• Support students’ participation in general education and specialized programs
• Implement behavioral intervention strategies as directed by specialized staff
• Foster an inclusive, positive, and encouraging learning environment
• Help with academic tasks, personal care, and social-emotional development as needed
