Start an engaging and meaningful assignment supporting an elementary-aged student as a 1:1 paraprofessional in a school near Passaic, NJ. This contract position places you alongside a friendly, supportive educational team, working with students in 1st to 3rd grade. You'll play an essential role in the daily learning and growth of a young student, making a real difference every day.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional in a school environment
• Experience working 1:1 with students, preferably in an elementary setting
• Familiarity with ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) techniques or willingness to learn
• Ability to support students who exhibit behavioral challenges with patience and consistency
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers and other professionals
• Dependable, compassionate, and dedicated to student success

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct 1:1 support to an elementary student, assisting with academic tasks and classroom participation
• Foster positive relationships and help implement behavior management strategies
• Collaborate closely with the classroom teacher and special education team to carry out IEP goals
• Encourage independence and social development throughout the school day
• Maintain clear, professional communication with staff, parents, and the educational team
• Follow school protocols and provide a safe, caring learning environment

This contract position offers steady hours, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with the assignment continuing until June 19th. You’ll have the opportunity to work under the guidance of a supportive special education director and gain valuable experience in a dynamic educational setting.
