You’ll have the chance to work within several classroom environments, including 1:1 support positions and program assistant roles in both lower and upper school settings. Responsibilities will vary depending on the specific assignment and individual student needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a paraprofessional or classroom assistant preferred
  • Understanding of and ability to follow IEPs and support students with diverse learning needs
  • Patience, flexibility, and strong communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other school staff
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for all students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 assistance to assigned students, including in substantially separate and behavioral support classrooms
  • Offer classroom support to teachers as a program assistant in lower and upper school programs, as well as resource rooms
  • Support students in the CHOICES program, assisting with behavior management and engagement in learning
  • Foster a safe, caring, and positive educational atmosphere for every learner
  • Implement specific strategies and accommodations as outlined by educational plans
