Instructional Assistant - Petaluma, California

Key Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience working as a paraprofessional or instructional assistant in a school environment
• In-depth understanding of behavioral support strategies and classroom management techniques
• Prior experience supporting students with varied learning and behavioral needs
• Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and collaborate with multiple educators
• Strong communication skills for working with students, teachers, and school staff
• Flexibility to assist across a range of grade levels (K-12) and caseloads throughout the district

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct classroom support to students and educators as assigned
• Implement behavior intervention plans and reinforce positive student conduct
• Assist with instructional activities and adapt materials under the teacher’s guidance
• Help foster an inclusive, supportive atmosphere for all learners
• Monitor student progress, offering encouragement and timely feedback
• Assist with supervision of students throughout the school day, both in and outside the classroom
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and other paraprofessionals to ensure cohesive support strategies
