Classroom Assistant | Peyton, Colorado

Make an immediate impact supporting students in a dynamic educational environment as a paraprofessional. This contract position offers hands-on experience working closely with teachers and learners in a school setting. You'll provide essential classroom assistance, help manage behavior, and ensure every student has the support they need for academic and social success.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience as a paraprofessional or teacher’s assistant, preferably in a school environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with teachers, students, and staff
• Ability to support students with varying needs, maintaining patience and empathy
• Familiarity with positive behavior strategies and classroom management techniques
• High school diploma or equivalent required; further educational training is an advantage
• Adaptable, dependable, and committed to fostering a safe, inclusive atmosphere

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist lead teachers with classroom instruction and activities
• Offer individualized and small group support to reinforce lessons and keep students engaged
• Monitor behavior and provide redirection as needed to maintain a positive, productive environment
• Help with administrative tasks such as preparing materials, taking attendance, and light recordkeeping
• Support students with special needs by following individualized education plans (IEPs), under the direction of certified staff
• Promote independence and social skills development among students
• Ensure a clean, organized, and safe learning space
