Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working with school-aged children, ideally in an educational or childcare setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, teachers, and staff
- Ability to follow classroom routines and teacher directions
- Patience, flexibility, and a supportive approach to diverse learning needs
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certifications preferred
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies is a plus
- Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality and a safe learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering instructional activities, both individually and in small groups
- Support students with various learning abilities, offering guidance and encouragement
- Monitor student progress and behavior, reporting observations to educational staff
- Help with transitions, classroom organization, and preparation of learning materials
- Foster a welcoming, respectful atmosphere that nurtures student growth
- Provide support during lunch, recess, and other non-classroom settings as needed
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, or professional development as applicable
