A school district in Pittsfield, MA is seeking dedicated paraprofessionals to support K-12 students in a contract position for the current school year (CSY). This role offers the opportunity to work closely with diverse learners in both elementary and middle/high school settings, providing essential support within various educational programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for a 4th grade non-verbal student in the Developmental Program.
  • Assisting in 5th/6th grade classroom support roles (potential for two positions).
  • Supporting a 5th grade student in the Social Emotional Program (Registered Behavior Technician certification a plus, but not required).
  • Delivering 1:1 assistance for a 7th grade non-verbal life skills student.
  • Offering classroom support for 7th and 8th graders.
  • Managing 2:1 support for two 11th grade students.
  • Potentially supporting an 11th/12th grade classroom.
  • Providing possible 1:1 care for an 11th grade student with complex medical needs following a recent serious accident (may require nursing support contingent on further information).

Qualifications and desired experience:

  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a related educational support role.
  • Comfort with working one-on-one with students who have developmental, social-emotional, or physical challenges.
  • Ability to assist with behavioral supports; RBT certification helpful but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working alongside classroom teachers and related service providers.
  • Flexibility to work full school-day hours depending on assignment (Elementary: 8:15 am–3:15 pm; Middle/High School: 7:58 am–2:29 pm).
