Classroom Assistant | Putney, Vermont

Step into an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact supporting students’ development in a dynamic school environment! We are seeking dedicated individuals with experience as Paraprofessionals, Behavior Specialists, RBTs, or ABA professionals to join a robust behavior support initiative. This contract role runs from late August through mid-June, providing the chance to collaborate on innovative pilot projects as the school district revitalizes its behavior program.

In this role, you’ll work under the guidance of a new district BCBA, with the added benefit of experienced outside BCBA supervision for RBTs. The positions span multiple K-12 buildings and are ideal for those passionate about behavior support and ready to contribute to a pioneering team approach.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Credentialed or experienced as a Paraprofessional, Behavior Specialist, RBT, or in ABA services
• Previous experience in educational settings serving K-12 students is highly valued
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to implement behavior intervention plans with consistency and care
• Comfortable adapting to evolving environments and contributing to program development
• Willingness to work full-time hours (35–37.5 hours per week) across multiple school locations
• Enthusiasm for professional growth under BCBA supervision

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct support to students in K-12 classrooms, focusing on positive behavioral interventions
• Collaborate daily with educators, BCBA supervisors, and related service providers
• Assist with the implementation and evaluation of new pilot behavior projects
• Foster an inclusive, positive, and proactive learning environment
• Record and report on student progress, assisting in refining support strategies
• Maintain high standards of confidentiality and professionalism
