Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or similar support role in a school environment is preferred
- Familiarity working with students with developmental needs and a compassionate, patient approach
- Ability to collaborate well with teachers, support staff, and families
- Strong communication skills and adaptability in a dynamic classroom
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; relevant coursework or paraprofessional certification a plus
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on instructional and behavioral support to students in developmental classrooms
- Collaborate with lead teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assist students with classroom activities, ensuring participation and engagement
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment that encourages student growth and independence
- Support students’ needs with daily routines, mobility, and learning materials
- Help manage classroom organization and contribute to a positive educational atmosphere
