A full-time ParaProfessional is needed to serve for the remainder of the school year at a welcoming school in the Champaign area. This contract opportunity blends classroom support and the option to provide 1:1 care for students with special needs—including those who are medically fragile.
This role offers predictable hours, working Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 3:00pm, with a total of 35-40 hours per week. You’ll collaborate closely with educators and support staff, fostering a positive atmosphere for student success and growth.
Key Qualifications:
- High school diploma or higher education degree
- Valid Illinois Para Educator License
- Clear criminal background suitable for Illinois schools
- Prior experience supporting K-12 students in special education settings
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team
- Able to provide professional references from similar positions
- Demonstrated compassion and enthusiasm for working with children
Role Responsibilities:
- Assist in classroom management and instructional activities
- Provide individualized care to students, including those with medical needs
- Support academic, behavioral, and social goals outlined by classroom teachers and specialists
