The role involves assisting students with various special education requirements, including providing support for toileting and daily classroom activities. A background in special education or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is highly valued, but genuine patience and a comfortable, encouraging presence for students is most important.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Active GaPSC Paraprofessional Educator Certificate required
  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional, preferably in self-contained or resource settings
  • Familiarity working with students with special education needs
  • Comfort providing personal care, including assistance with toileting
  • Experience or training in ABA or similar behavioral support methodologies is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with educators and families
  • A patient, adaptive, and compassionate approach to student support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and small group academic and behavioral support
  • Assist students with personal care and mobility as needed
  • Support instructional activities led by certified teachers
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
  • Help implement IEP and behavior support plan strategies
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all matters regarding students
