Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting for students with hearing impairments
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and other school staff
  • Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and understanding when working with diverse student populations
  • A commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom climate
  • Flexibility to adapt to a variety of instructional settings within the school

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, aiding academic and social development
  • Deliver clear, accurate interpretation services to bridge communication between students, staff, and peers
  • Assist with classroom management, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment
  • Support implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and instructional accommodations as needed
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development to remain current in best practices
  • Monitor student progress, offering feedback and updates to instructional staff and support teams
