Teacher's Aide - Rockford, Illinois

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar classroom support role preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
• Patience, empathy, and an interest in supporting the academic and social development of kindergarten through second grade students
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic classroom environment
• High school diploma or GED required; relevant postsecondary coursework is a plus
• Ability to follow directions and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) under the guidance of certified teachers

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional activities and behavioral management
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students based on their individual needs
• Support students with a range of abilities, encouraging engagement and participation
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom atmosphere
• Help with classroom organization and preparation of materials
• Supervise students in various settings, including classroom, playground, and during transitions
