Step into a rewarding educational role as a Deaf/Blind Intervener, providing dedicated 1:1 support to a fourth-grade student. This contract opportunity covers the full academic year, from August 21st through June 4th, with consistent weekly hours (37.5–40) and the chance to create a meaningful impact each day.

In this position, you will champion communication access, ensure engagement in classroom activities, and assist the student throughout their school day, fostering both their academic and social growth. Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience as a paraprofessional, ideally within school settings
  • Background or training in supporting students with deaf-blindness or similar disabilities
  • Ability to utilize a variety of communication modalities and assistive technology
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive, student-centered approach
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong collaborative skills for working with teachers, therapists, and family members

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct 1:1 support to facilitate communication and participation in all classroom routines
  • Adapt materials and instructions for accessibility
  • Assist with mobility, orientation, and hands-on learning tasks
  • Monitor student safety and well-being throughout the school day
  • Collaborate with educators to support individualized learning plans
  • Encourage self-advocacy and independence as appropriate
