1:1 Substitute Instructional Assistant - Rogersville, MO

A contract opportunity is now available for a caring Paraprofessional with strong American Sign Language (ASL) skills. This role offers the chance to work one-on-one with a Kindergarten student who benefits from additional communication support in an inclusive classroom near Rogersville, MO.

Responsibilities include:

• Offering individualized assistance and encouragement to help the student thrive academically and socially
• Facilitating communication and classroom participation through fluent use of ASL
• Partnering closely with teachers and support staff to create a supportive, encouraging learning environment
• Implementing classroom routines, carrying out instructional activities, and providing positive reinforcement
• Engaging directly with the student on the classroom floor as needed, using patience and flexibility

Desired qualifications:

• Patient, nurturing attitude and a passion for helping young children succeed
• Fluency in ASL is highly preferred for enhanced student communication
• Effective listener and clear communicator
• Previous experience working in early childhood education, special education, or behavioral support is a plus
• Active Missouri DESE Paraprofessional or Substitute Certificate is preferred, though not required
• Ability to commit to a Monday–Thursday/Friday schedule, approximately 30 hours per week
• Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential
• Willingness and ability to move around and be actively engaged at the student’s level in the classroom
