In this rewarding assignment, you'll provide dedicated 1:1 support to a first-grade student who is mostly non-verbal and classified as having mild involvement. Your compassionate presence will help guide daily classroom participation and foster a sense of security—often literally hand-in-hand with the student. Flexibility in hours allows for a part-time commitment (at least 17.5 hours weekly), with the potential to expand to a full-time schedule, depending on school needs. Some toileting assistance is a part of this role.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Valid GaPSC Paraprofessional Certification
  • Prior experience as a paraprofessional or working with children (highly preferred)
  • Genuine enthusiasm for working with students requiring individualized support
  • Adaptability, patience, and excellent communication skills
  • Commitment through the duration of the assignment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized attention and support to assigned student during classroom activities
  • Assist with daily routines and ensure the student’s safety and inclusion
  • Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and specialists to best support the student’s development
  • Offer toileting assistance as needed, maintaining student dignity and appropriate support
  • Foster a positive classroom environment
