Instructional Assistant - Royersford, Pennsylvania

Make a meaningful impact in education as a Personal Care Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. A contract role is available at a supportive 7th Grade Center, assisting in an autism support classroom. You’ll work alongside skilled educators to provide essential daily support for students in grades 7 and 8, helping them thrive both academically and personally.

Assignment Details:

• Contract dates: August 25, 2026 – June 4, 2027
• Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 3:00 pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with multiple students with disabilities, offering behavioral and self-care support throughout the school day.
• Assist students who may exhibit physical aggression, always employing safety protocols and de-escalation strategies.
• Implement behavior management plans under teacher guidance.
• Help students with personal care tasks as needed.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive environment to encourage student engagement and progress.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and school staff to meet each student’s unique needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication regarding student progress and daily activities.

Qualifications:

• Prior paraprofessional or school-based experience preferred, especially working with students who have autism or behavioral needs.
• Understanding of, or willingness to learn, positive behavior supports and de-escalation techniques.
• Patience, empathy, and a team-oriented mindset are essential.
• Able to manage physical tasks and provide assistance for self-care routines.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and prepared to assist urgently as an immediate need exists.
