As a 1:1 instructional aide, you will work four hours a day—Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 11:45 AM to 3:45 PM. Wednesdays feature an adjusted schedule with an earlier start and finish, still encompassing a four-hour shift at the end of their school day.
Key Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or instructional aide in a school setting is highly valued
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children succeed
- Ability to establish effective rapport with students, teachers, and staff
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Dependable attendance and a positive, encouraging demeanor
- Willingness to adapt to the individualized needs of the student
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support and guidance to a 2nd grade student throughout the school day
- Assist the student with classwork, social interaction, and transitions between activities
- Work closely with teaching staff and special education services to implement personalized learning plans
- Encourage positive behavior and participation through consistent reinforcement and a supportive approach
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming environment within the classroom and on campus
- Monitor the student’s progress and communicate observations with the school team
