Classroom Assistant | Saint Francis, Minnesota

A contract paraprofessional opportunity is available with immediate start and runs through late May 2027. This position is based in a middle school resource classroom setting and supports students, staff, and learning initiatives throughout the school day. The role offers a schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM to 2:15 PM, for a total of 35 hours per week.

Key Qualifications:

• At least one year of experience working as a paraprofessional in a school environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Meets at least one of the following:
  • Completed a minimum of two years (about 60 semester credits) at an accredited college or university
  • Holds an associate degree or higher
  • Has earned a passing score on an approved assessment (e.g., ParaPro Assessment or ParaEducator tests)
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to support diverse student needs
• Reliable, adaptable, and committed to fostering a positive learning atmosphere

Responsibilities:

• Assist classroom teachers and specialists with instructional activities in a middle school resource setting
• Provide academic and behavioral support to students individually or in small groups
• Support the classroom routine, monitor student progress, and document observations as needed
• Collaborate closely with educators, support staff, and administrators
• Foster an inclusive and respectful environment
