Behavior Aide | Substitute Position with Full-Time Growth Opportunity

Soliant is seeking experienced Behavior Aides to support students in special education classrooms within a partnering school district near Salinas, CA. This position begins as an on-call substitute role with the opportunity to transition into a part-time or full-time position as openings become available, based on performance.

Assignment Details:

• Flexible, on-call scheduling
• Hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on district needs
  • Some weeks may offer up to 35 hours
  • Other weeks may offer as few as 7 hours
• Typical workday includes:
  • 7 paid hours
  • 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Primarily elementary school assignments
• School locations will vary throughout the district
• Candidates must be comfortable with same-day assignment notifications and maintaining open communication
• $24-26/hr compensation, based on experience

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 behavioral support or classroom assistance in Special Day Class (SDC) settings
• Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques
• Support students with behavioral, emotional, and academic needs
• Assist with classroom routines and activities
• Provide toileting assistance when required
• Ensure student safety while maintaining a supportive learning environment
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to promote student success

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of school-based behavior experience
• Experience working in behavioral or Special Day Class (SDC) environments
• Comfortable working with students who may display aggressive behaviors
• Comfortable providing toileting assistance when necessary
• Knowledge of positive behavior interventions and de-escalation strategies
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check without special approvals
• Ability to complete onboarding and credentialing quickly
• TB testing
• Drug screening
• Livescan/fingerprinting
• Physically able to keep up with active students throughout the school day
• Strong communication skills and flexibility with on-call scheduling
• Professional references required

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPR Certification
• First Aid Certification
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification
• Previous experience supporting students with moderate to severe behavioral needs
• Flexibility to work at multiple school sites
