Soliant is seeking experienced Behavior Aides to support students in special education classrooms within a partnering school district near Salinas, CA. This position begins as an on-call substitute role with the opportunity to transition into a part-time or full-time position as openings become available, based on performance.

Assignment Details:
- Flexible, on-call scheduling

Hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on district needs
- Some weeks may offer up to 35 hours
- Other weeks may offer as few as 7 hours

Typical workday includes:
- 7 paid hours
- 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Primarily elementary school assignments
- School locations will vary throughout the district
- Candidates must be comfortable with same-day assignment notifications and maintaining open communication
- $24-26/hr compensation, based on experience
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 behavioral support or classroom assistance in Special Day Class (SDC) settings
- Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Support students with behavioral, emotional, and academic needs
- Assist with classroom routines and activities
- Provide toileting assistance when required
- Ensure student safety while maintaining a supportive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to promote student success
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of school-based behavior experience
- Experience working in behavioral or Special Day Class (SDC) environments
- Comfortable working with students who may display aggressive behaviors
- Comfortable providing toileting assistance when necessary
- Knowledge of positive behavior interventions and de-escalation strategies
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check without special approvals
- Ability to complete onboarding and credentialing quickly
- TB testing
- Drug screening
- Livescan/fingerprinting
- Physically able to keep up with active students throughout the school day
- Strong communication skills and flexibility with on-call scheduling
- Professional references required
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPR Certification
- First Aid Certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Certification
- Previous experience supporting students with moderate to severe behavioral needs
- Flexibility to work at multiple school sites
