The position begins as soon as possible and continues through late May 2027, providing a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours.
Key Qualifications:
- Must meet at least ONE of the following:
- Hold an associate degree or higher
- Completed a minimum of 48 college semester hours (recognized by Texas or regional educational agencies) and paraeducator course via Stedi.org, passing with 70% or better
- Have pediatric or school-based experience with children with hearing loss
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Ability to pass fingerprinting/background check per regulations
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) essential
- Flexibility to move between Highlands High School and Mission Academy if needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom and individual support to students with hearing loss, including assisting with communication and academic engagement
- Collaborate with teachers and related service providers for inclusive educational experiences
- Offer guidance and reinforcement of classroom routines and assignments
- Assist with documentation and reporting as required
