Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Paraprofessional in the vibrant San Francisco, CA area this summer. Play a vital role in enhancing student engagement, growth, and independence across a variety of grade levels and school settings. Positions are available for Pre-K through high school and county programs, spanning from mid-June to mid-July with varying schedules.
Successful candidates meet one of the following educational requirements: an Associate's degree or higher, 48 college units with a high school diploma, or a high school diploma plus passing CBEST or the instructional aide exam. Additional specialized certifications—such as CPR/First Aid, emergency medication administration, physical health care procedures, sign language fluency, or Braille—are highly valued; please showcase these credentials when applying. Flexibility is key: all paraprofessionals must be comfortable assisting with all assigned student needs including toileting, feeding, and health procedures, as well as adapting between classrooms and assignments. Teamwork, adaptability, and a commitment to student support are a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the instructional and social needs of students under the direction of school staff.
- Provide one-on-one or small group assistance in academic and life skills tasks.
- Assist with physical needs such as feeding, diapering, G-tube feeding, or mobility help as required.
- Maintain a professional, collaborative, and flexible attitude at all times.
- Attend training for CPR, first aid, and site- or student-specific medical procedures when applicable.
- Uphold confidentiality and comply with all school and district procedures.
Those possessing specialized experience (working with students with behavioral needs, proficiency in sign language or Braille, nursing certification) are encouraged to apply and should highlight these skills.
