A school district near San Francisco, California is looking to hire full-time paraprofessionals. In this role, the paraprofessional will work directly with students who have disabilities and provide support throughout the school day under the supervision of a special education teacher. Openings are available in elementary, middle, and high school (placement requests are not guaranteed). Qualified applicants will have an Associate degree or higher OR 48 college units and a High School Diploma OR passing of CBEST and a High School Diploma OR passing of the instructional aide exam. Preferred applicants will have one (1) year of successful experience working with students who have significant social-emotional and/or behavioral needs, i.e. direct student care or as an instructional aide working in a public school, nonpublic school or nonpublic agency setting. Toileting/diapering/feeding is required. Active CPR/BLS/First Aid is a plus. Bilingual skills are a plus. Candidates will be required to successfully complete Soliant onboarding, a background check, fingerprint clearance, TB test, and submit references.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group instructional support in reading, writing, mathematics, communication, and functional life skills.
- Assist with implementing students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as directed by the supervising teacher.
- Provide personal care assistance, including toileting, feeding, dressing, hygiene, lifting, positioning, and mobility support when required by a student's IEP.
- Support students with a variety of disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, and physical impairments.
- Utilize positive behavior intervention strategies and reinforce appropriate classroom behaviors.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in a dynamic classroom environment.
- Collect and document student progress, behavior, and academic data for instructional planning.
- Assist students during classroom transitions, recess, lunch, field trips, and school activities.
- Ability to safely respond during behavioral or medical emergencies.
- Assist students with communication systems, visual supports, and assistive technology devices as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the school day.
- Ability to lift or assist students with mobility and transfers as required by the assignment.
- Prepare instructional materials, organize classroom resources, and maintain a safe, clean learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all district, state, and federal regulations regarding student privacy.

Compensation for this position ranges from $18.52 to $35.52. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
