Classroom Assistant | San Juan Capistrano, California

Make a meaningful impact in students’ lives as an on-site paraprofessional, providing dedicated 1:1 support at the elementary level. This contract position is available immediately and runs through early June 2027, with a schedule of 32 to 40 hours per week across four or five days. You’ll help foster a supportive learning environment at RH Dana Elementary, working closely with school staff to aid students in reaching their full potential.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role
• Understanding of basic classroom management and learning support techniques
• Ability to establish rapport and maintain positive relationships with children
• Comfort working 1:1 with elementary-aged students
• Strong teamwork skills and a collaborative spirit
• Flexibility and reliability for on-site work as part of a contract
• Relevant certifications or licensing, as required by state or local regulations

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, individualized assistance to students in classroom and/or resource settings
• Collaborate with educators to implement lesson plans and accommodate student needs
• Assist with adapting educational materials and modifying lessons for individual students
• Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development through positive engagement
• Monitor and document student progress and behavior, ensuring a safe, inclusive environment
• Communicate clearly and professionally with teachers, administrators, and families as appropriate
