Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or supporting classroom instruction is preferred
- Familiarity with special education needs and individualized education plans (IEPs) is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with students and faculty
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability in responding to student needs
- A collaborative approach, working effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or relevant certifications advantageous
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group instructional support under the direction of licensed teaching staff
- Assist in the implementation of lesson plans and classroom activities
- Support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs in achieving their educational goals
- Encourage positive social interactions and inclusive participation
- Aid in monitoring classroom behavior and maintaining a safe, respectful setting
- Help with daily classroom routines, organization, and preparation of learning materials
- Document student progress and communicate effectively with teachers regarding student needs
