This contract opportunity spans from August 10, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with a consistent weekly schedule totaling 32.5 hours. You’ll play a crucial role in providing dedicated, individualized support to a student, fostering their growth both academically and socially.
Key Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a paraeducator or paraprofessional, ideally in special education settings
- Familiarity with the unique dynamics and challenges of Special Day classrooms, especially regarding behavioral support
- Comfortable managing one-on-one student relationships, building trust and encouraging independence
- Spanish-English bilingual skills are strongly preferred to better serve both the student and their family
- Adaptable, patient, and proactive in supporting diverse learning and behavioral needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 assistance to a student, reinforcing learning activities, behavioral interventions, and daily routines
- Collaborate with special education teachers and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Encourage student participation, socialization, and self-advocacy within the classroom environment
- Document progress, address behavioral concerns, and adapt support strategies as needed
- Foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere that helps students thrive academically, emotionally, and socially
