Step into a dynamic school-based environment as a contract paraprofessional supporting students’ diverse needs and enhancing their educational experiences. Assignments are located near San Mateo, CA, working approximately 27.5 hours per week within a collaborative team setting. Flexibility is key: paraprofessionals assist where needed throughout the campus, engaging in all aspects of student support including toileting, feeding, g-tube feeding, and more. A positive, adaptable, and team-oriented approach is essential.

The role requires compliance with updated district qualifications—please ensure you clearly list all S-qualifications (e.g., S10/S10A/etc.) in your application. Transcripts or resumes alone are not accepted for this purpose.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Clear listing of S-qualifications; must include S10/S10A (others as applicable: S10E, S10F, S10Q, S10W, S20D, S20V, S22)
  • Minimum educational credentials:
    • Associate’s Degree or higher
    • Or 48 college units and a high school diploma
    • Or High School Diploma plus passing CBEST or Instructional Aide exam
  • If S10E/S10F: Successful completion of required annual trainings (First Aid, CPR, specialized health procedures as applicable)
  • If S10Q: Minimum one year experience with students requiring significant behavioral and social-emotional support
  • If S20D: Fluency in sign language and demonstrated understanding of deaf culture
  • If S20V: Education in Braille or related vision-impaired background preferred
  • If S22: CA LVN, CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Willingness to perform all assigned duties (including personal care support)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individualized education programs, assist with daily personal care, and facilitate classroom participation
  • Provide instructional and behavioral support under teacher and specialist guidance
  • Complete any required health or safety training sessions (offered regularly)

District pay starts at $34.25 per hour or above, with additional details regarding compensation provided upon inquiry.
