Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Associate’s degree required
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or behavioral aide essential
- ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) experience preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with students and staff
- Adaptability and a patient, encouraging demeanor
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in tandem with teachers and specialists to implement individualized education and behavior intervention plans
- Provide academic and behavioral support for students in group and one-on-one settings
- Employ evidence-based strategies, including ABA techniques, to help students achieve their goals
- Assist in data collection, observation, and progress tracking
- Support students with social integration, communication skills, and independence
- Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate student progress to the teaching team
