Key Qualifications:
- High school diploma or higher
- Current Illinois Para Educator License required
- Clear criminal background compliant with Illinois school requirements
- Demonstrated experience supporting K-12 students in special education environments
- Ability to provide current, manager-level references from related positions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Strong passion and dedication to helping school-aged children succeed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in classroom management and instruction, adapting to various learning needs
- Provide one-on-one care and academic support to students with special education or medical needs
- Help implement individualized education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of certified educators
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and other staff to ensure student success and well-being
- Maintain accurate documentation related to student care and progress
This position offers a predictable Monday–Friday schedule from 8am to 3pm, with 35-40 hours per week—ideal for those who value work-life balance within a structured school calendar.
