Step into a pivotal role supporting students with significant behavioral and emotional needs during the 2026–2027 academic year. We are seeking dedicated professionals for contract paraprofessional positions as Autism Support Interventionists (ASI) and Emotional Support Interventionists (ESI) across Carbon & Lehigh Counties. This assignment runs tentatively from August 10, 2026, to June 11, 2027, aligning with the school calendar. Expect limited hours for Opening Day and Summer Academy, transitioning to regular weekly hours (32.5–35) in late August as school kicks off.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, ABA, Human Services, or related field preferred (Associate’s with 1+ years’ experience considered).
- Prior work with children/adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional/behavioral disabilities, ABA, or in settings such as behavioral health, special education, or crisis intervention.
- Strong behavior management and de-escalation abilities.
- Calm, professional demeanor amid behavioral escalations.
- Reliable, collaborative, and proficient in basic computer tasks for documentation and communication.
- Commitment to providing quality, hands-on support in highly structured classroom settings.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one and small-group support, implementing Behavior Intervention Plans and evidence-based strategies.
- Assist with transitions, routines, and academic or social skill building.
- Collect data for IEP progress monitoring.
- Address personal care needs when required (toileting, mobility, feeding).
- Respond therapeutically to behavioral issues using trauma-informed, de-escalation, and emotional regulation techniques.
- Collaborate actively with teachers, BCBAs, counselors, and therapists.
