Teacher's Aide - Shawnee, Kansas

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by providing essential classroom support in a contract paraprofessional position. Multiple opportunities are available serving K-12 students in a variety of classroom settings, including Lifeskills, Autism support (SAILS), Behavioral support (BSC), and High-Incidence classrooms. Assignments will span the academic year from early August to late May, and placement details will be communicated following a successful offer.

If you have experience working in schools, you’ll have an advantage in the selection process. Ideal candidates excel at supporting learning and behavioral goals, collaborating with teachers, and fostering a safe, welcoming environment for all students.

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior paraprofessional or relevant school-based experience strongly preferred
• Comfortable working with students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
• Flexible and adaptable to various classroom settings and student populations
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to helping students succeed
• Must be able to complete a pre-screening interview

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct classroom support to students in general education or specialized settings
• Assist teachers in daily instructional and non-instructional activities
• Support students’ academic, physical, and emotional needs
• Assist with behavior management and reinforcement strategies as directed
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom atmosphere
• Participate in ongoing training and staff meetings as required
