Make a real difference supporting students as a Paraprofessional dedicated to visually impaired learners for the full 2026-2027 school year. This contract role spans from August 13, 2026, through August 21, 2027, offering a stable weekday schedule near Spring Lake, NC.
Work one-on-one with a visually impaired student, helping to create an inclusive, empowering classroom environment. Your supportive presence will ensure this student receives the assistance necessary to thrive academically and socially.
Key Qualifications:
- Associate degree or minimum of 48 semester hours (transcript or degree documentation required for consideration)
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in student support within schools is a plus
- Genuine commitment to helping children with visual impairments reach their potential
- Excellent communication, patience, and adaptability
- Must be comfortable working independently while taking direction from educational teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct classroom support and mobility assistance for a visually impaired student (1:1 caseload)
- Assist with materials adaptation, note-taking, and any required classroom modifications
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and respectful space to encourage student participation and independence
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement instructional strategies and accommodations
- Offer encouragement, emotional support, and guidance as needed throughout the school day
