You will work closely with teachers and therapists to foster academic, social, and emotional growth for children with a range of abilities and needs. Your ability to collaborate and your reliability will make you an essential part of the educational team.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proven experience as a paraprofessional in schools, especially working with children
- Familiarity with special education laws and best practices
- Comfort adapting instructional methods and resources to individual students’ needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork
- Experience supporting the implementation of IEPs and collecting relevant data
- Commitment to reliability, punctuality, and maintaining a strong work ethic
- Effective problem-solving, organization, and time management skills
- Empathy and patience for working with students with behavioral and physical disabilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers by supporting daily instruction and individualized student needs
- Help implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collect and report data on student progress
- Employ specialized teaching techniques and assistive technology
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment
- Collaborate actively with faculty and parents to ensure student success
