Special Education Para Professional in Stamford, CT

This full-time, onsite contract role offers 32 hours per week for the 2023-2024 school year and is ideal for professionals passionate about assisting special education students achieve their fullest potential.

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous paraprofessional experience in a school setting
• Strong desire to assist students with special needs
• Familiarity with data collection and eagerness to collaborate within a team
• Knowledge of special education laws, individualized education plans (IEPs), and best practices
• Ability to modify instructional strategies for students with diverse learning abilities
• Skilled in monitoring student progress using varied assessment methods
• Experience assisting students with challenging behaviors and physical disabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with students, teachers, and families
• Organized, reliable, with strong time management and problem-solving abilities
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to helping children grow

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct classroom and individualized support to students and teachers
• Assist with implementing and adapting IEPs under teacher guidance
• Support positive classroom dynamics and promote an inclusive environment
• Collect, track, and report on student progress as directed
• Collaborate effectively with staff, families, and related service providers
