In this full-time, contract position, you'll provide individualized assistance to a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder who requires accommodations and is currently non-reading and non-writing. Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience as a Paraprofessional in a school setting
- Proven expertise supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Ability to implement accommodations tailored to a student’s unique needs
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable with strong communication skills
- Comfortable working 1:1 with a middle school student who is unable to read or write
Role Responsibilities:
- Assist the assigned student throughout daily classroom routines and transitions
- Deliver personalized academic and behavioral support as directed by special education and teaching staff
- Adapt learning materials and assistive technology in collaboration with teachers and therapists
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured environment
- Record and communicate progress or concerns regarding the student’s development
- Foster positive peer interactions and social engagement for the student
