Key Qualifications:

• Direct experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is required
• Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting preferred
• Strong ability to provide individualized accommodations and support
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff
• Willingness to implement specialized strategies for non-readers and non-writers

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a middle school student with ASD throughout the school day
• Assist with daily classroom activities, adapting tasks and instructions as needed
• Implement accommodations to support the student's unique learning needs, including modified communication methods
• Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment
• Work closely with teachers and other professionals to follow Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Monitor and document student progress, reporting on successes and areas for growth
