An exciting contract opportunity is available to work 1:1 with an elementary student as a Paraprofessional during the Extended School Year (ESY) program. Key Qualifications:

• Experience as a paraprofessional, ideally in a school setting
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL); at minimum, working knowledge of basic signs with strong motivation to advance ASL skills
• Willingness and ability to work closely with a young student one-on-one
• Commitment to fostering inclusion and supporting the IEP goals set by the educational team
• Dependable, positive, and able to communicate effectively with students and staff

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct in-class support to an elementary student who uses ASL to communicate
• Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and staff using sign language
• Reinforce learning and behavior strategies as directed by the IEP team
• Collaborate with educators and other support professionals to create a positive, accessible learning environment
• Commit to the ESY schedule (June 15–July 24, 9:45am–11:45am, with specified days off)
• Be adaptable to the needs of both the student and the classroom environment
