As part of a team providing direct support at a specialized academy, your commitment will empower students to reach their fullest potential.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Georgia Paraprofessional Certification required (must have passed the Paraprofessional GACE exam)
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults, especially in a school setting
  • Patience, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach
  • Ability to travel daily to Macon, GA for this full-time role (Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 3:30pm)
  • Professional, reliable, and motivated to work with students with visual impairments

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group academic and behavioral support to students with visual impairments
  • Assist teachers with classroom activities, learning materials, and lesson implementation
  • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and modify materials to be accessible for students
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages independence
  • Support student engagement in academics, social-emotional skills, and daily routines
  • Communicate regularly with teachers and school staff to share student progress
