Make a meaningful impact supporting students in a dynamic elementary school environment. This contract paraprofessional role offers the chance to work closely with PreK-6th grade learners in both resource and general education settings for the upcoming school year. With two openings available, you'll be an integral part of a dedicated team providing assistance to students with a range of needs including other health impairments, learning disabilities, autism, hearing impairments, and more. This position is based at one elementary school and does not involve toileting responsibilities.
Key Qualifications:
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Oklahoma Paraprofessional Certificate
- Previous experience working with children or students, preferably in a school or special education environment
- Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
- Ability to adapt to different learning and behavioral needs
- Professionalism in collaborating with teachers, staff, and families
Position Highlights & Responsibilities:
- Support individual and small groups of students within the resource room and their general education classrooms
- Provide academic and behavioral assistance following teacher guidance and IEPs
- Encourage student engagement, independence, and social skills
- Work alongside teachers and specialists to ensure a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Maintain accurate documentation and effective communication
- Enjoy a flexible schedule with shorter weeks—only 15 Fridays required throughout the school year
