This contract position is based near the beautiful mountain surroundings of Telluride, CO, providing a unique backdrop for meaningful work as a Paraprofessional. In this role, you’ll empower students in their academic and personal growth, while collaborating closely with teachers and special education staff.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Prior experience working as a paraprofessional, classroom aide, or assisting educators strongly preferred
  • Understanding of classroom routines, educational support, or child development
  • Patience, effective communication, and a nurturing approach with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Ability to follow directions and implement educational plans as outlined by certified staff
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some post-secondary coursework or certifications in education or related fields are a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers in daily classroom operations and instructional support
  • Provide individualized or small group support to students, adapting materials as needed
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere
  • Monitor student progress, behaviors, and provide feedback to certified staff
  • Support students with special needs, helping implement accommodations and modifications
  • Supervise students during transitions, meals, recess, or field trips as necessary
