Step into a vital role supporting a student in need by working as a 1:1 paraprofessional in an elementary school environment. You’ll provide essential assistance to an individual student with medical complexities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and successful participation in the school day. Desired Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana Paraprofessional Certification strongly preferred
• Previous experience working 1:1 with children who have medical histories or special needs
• Background in healthcare or familiarity with medical care support is a plus
• Strong communication, patience, and reliability
• Ability to safely move and adjust students as needed throughout the day
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and fostering an inclusive environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, individualized care and classroom support for a student with Spina bifida and other medical complications
• Assist with physical movement, transfers, and positioning during school hours (8:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 37.5 hours/week)
• Collaborate with teachers, nurses, and other staff to implement the student’s care and education plan
• Monitor the student’s well-being and promptly communicate any concerns
• Help create a secure and welcoming learning experience for the student

This role is onsite only and based at a local elementary school. You’ll have the stability of a long-term contract with meaningful impact each day. Those with strong paraprofessional backgrounds and a compassionate approach to care will thrive in this position.
