Classroom Assistant | Tilton, New Hampshire

These contract positions offer a chance to work one-on-one with students, providing vital assistance and engagement during the school day.

Qualifications and skills:

• Valid NH Paraeducator I or II certification (required)
• Experience as a paraprofessional or working with children is a plus, but not mandatory
• Compassion, patience, and the ability to foster positive rapport with students
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with teachers and staff
• Commitment to supporting individualized accommodations and behavioral plans

Key responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support to an elementary or middle school student, assisting with regulation and on-task engagement throughout the academic day
• Implement strategies outlined in students’ plans, including behavioral supports as needed
• Encourage participation, independence, and skill development during classroom activities
• Foster a nurturing, structured environment to help students meet their goals
• Monitor student progress and collaborate regularly with educational teams
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times

Assignments are available in both an elementary and a middle school classroom, running from now through June 17th, 2027. Schedules are weekdays from 8:00am - 2:30pm (elementary) or 8:00am - 2:40pm (middle school), making for a consistent workweek with no toileting responsibilities.
